I asked visual artist, Crushlust to give me three ingredients that describe his brand philosophy. This is what he said...
"I always strive to make something different with conventional and already made artwork and photography. I love the idea of entering new rooms with other and perhaps new views. For instance - playing around with angles to bring new perspectives combined with a lot of layers with colors and other art to make a "surreal" aura of the already made artwork. I like the idea of bringing new worlds to the viewer through already made worlds."
"All of my work is sprung from a feeling of "I want to be here". I want to make art that tickles the senses of wanting something of it: color, motif or something likewise."
"Sometimes I think that the motif of the artwork is so bad but I can't let it go because of a color-scheme or a specific tone of a color that I'm just in love with. Sometimes its almost like an obsession. I think that the colors are the absolute definition and final judge of art. You can have a beautiful photo of something but if the colors isnt right the photo will be likewise."

IF YOUR DREAMS COULD TAKE POLAROID PHOTOGRAPHS: THE WORK OF EDVIN KARLSSON (AKA CRUSHLUST). Colors carry an emotional presence that we can't touch, but can feel intensely, and those feelings can shift with just a slight change in hue. This is at the heart of what I love about Edvin's photography.
When I look at Edvin's photographs, they feel like imprints of memories. He's managed to capture a new landscape in his work, a type of dreamscape that feel like postcards from another plane of existence, but carry something very real. The beauty of his work is that he not only changes what we view as familiar, but celebrates reality in an entirely unique way.
